We will remember Andrew as ‘our cheeky chappie friend’ who has kept us amused with his jokes, reports and anecdotes for more than 50 years. He is a special person and we will particularly remember his sense of humour and long stories! A joke would often end with a ‘broken arm’ action and a ‘raspberry blow’. Andrew was far more than this ‘act’ for he was a highly intelligent and caring gentle man who showed compassion when others needed help and had strong beliefs in supporting others in numerous ways. Just one example – when ‘between jobs’ he volunteered his lunchtimes to help run the school chess club in Haywards Heath. This eventually reached 120 7-11yr olds playing daily. His enthusiasm and kindness ensured that children who might never have had this experience were taught to think, analyse, predict, plan etc. This must have helped them in their lives both as children and also as adults. His (and Christine’s) love of motorsport was not limited to the top echelons on the Grand Prix circuit but also to supporting our son and grandson when they raced at much lower levels, which was much appreciated. Thank you Andrew for your fun, thought provoking discussions and contribution to society. Our lives are richer for your company and influence. We will miss you very much and send our love and condolences to those you have left behind, especially Christine, Julia and David. Roy & Pat Ticehurst
